The Electronovas at Techstravaganza

During the off-season, The Electronovas took part in an exciting and educational event known as Techstravaganza, which was hosted by the Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology. This annual event is designed to spark a passion for science and technology among younger students, and it attracts a diverse group of participants eager to share their knowledge and enthusiasm for STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) fields.
At Techstravaganza, our team engaged with K-6 students, guiding them through hands-on activities that focused on the fundamental principles of basic circuitry. We set up interactive stations where students could explore various components, such as resistors, capacitors, and LEDs, allowing them to grasp how these elements work together to create functioning circuits. Our goal was not only to teach them the mechanics of circuitry but also to inspire curiosity and creativity in their approach to problem-solving.

In addition to the circuitry activities, we emphasized the importance of teamwork and collaboration by encouraging students to participate in FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) programs. We showcased our robot, which was built and programmed by our team members, demonstrating its capabilities and the exciting possibilities of robotics. By allowing the students to interact with the robot, we aimed to spark their interest in engineering and robotics, showing them that they, too, could be part of a team that builds and competes with such innovative technology.

Throughout the event, we fostered an environment of encouragement and support, answering questions, providing guidance, and sharing our own experiences in robotics competitions. The enthusiasm from the students was palpable, and it was rewarding to see their eyes light up with understanding as they grasped the concepts we presented. Our participation in Techstravaganza not only helped to educate the next generation about the wonders of technology but also reinforced our commitment to community outreach and mentorship in the fields of science and engineering.
