This year, The Electronovas collaborated with the Helpers Social Development Foundation to address a significant issue affecting numerous students in Nigeria: the lack of access to computers for educational purposes. We specifically worked with Chidi from the organization, who provided invaluable assistance. Without these vital resources, students found it challenging to acquire the digital skills necessary for their education and future careers. To address this gap, The Electronovas launched a computer donation drive, gathering and distributing devices directly to students participating in the foundation’s programs. This initiative created avenues for independent learning and new opportunities for these young learners.

Addressing the Digital Divide in Nigerian Education
Many students in Nigeria face barriers to accessing technology. In rural and underserved areas, schools often lack the resources to provide computers, limiting students’ ability to learn digital skills. These skills are increasingly important not only for academic success but also for future job prospects in a world that relies heavily on technology.
The Helpers Social Development Foundation works to support students who face these challenges. However, the shortage of computers made it difficult for the foundation to fully equip students for the digital age. Recognizing this need, The Electronovas stepped in to help by launching a donation drive aimed at collecting functional computers and laptops.
How The Electronovas Made a Difference
The donation drive involved collecting devices from individuals and organizations willing to contribute. Each computer was carefully checked, refurbished if necessary, and prepared for use by students. The Electronovas then worked closely with the Helpers Social Development Foundation to distribute the devices directly to students who needed them most.
This hands-on approach ensured that the computers reached the right students quickly and efficiently. The new access to technology allowed students to:
Explore educational software and online resources independently
Develop essential digital skills such as typing, coding basics, and internet research
Prepare for future careers that require computer literacy
Build confidence in using technology for learning and communication
Stories of Impact from the Program
One student shared how receiving a computer changed her learning experience. Before, she had to rely on shared devices or none at all, which made completing assignments difficult. Now, she can practice skills at her own pace and explore new subjects online. This independence has boosted her motivation and opened her eyes to career paths she had never considered.
Teachers also noticed improvements. With more students able to use computers regularly, lessons became more interactive and engaging. The foundation’s staff reported that students showed greater enthusiasm for learning and improved performance in subjects that integrate technology.

Looking Ahead: Expanding Access to Technology in Education
The Electronovas is proud to support the Helpers Social Development Foundation in this important work. The success of the computer donation drive highlights the impact that access to technology can have on education. It also shows the power of collaboration between organizations committed to improving learning opportunities.
Moving forward, The Electronovas plans to continue expanding access to computers and digital resources for students in Nigeria. By working with local partners, the team aims to reach more schools and communities where technology remains scarce. The goal is to help every student gain the skills they need to succeed in school and beyond.
How You Can Help
Supporting initiatives like this one can make a real difference. Donating used computers, volunteering time to refurbish devices, or spreading the word about the need for technology in education are all ways to contribute. Together, we can help close the digital divide and create brighter futures for students in Nigeria and around the world.
The partnership between The Electronovas and Helpers Social Development Foundation shows that small actions can lead to meaningful change. Providing students with the tools to learn independently and build digital skills is an investment in their potential and the future of their communities.
